Client Case Study: HelloFresh
How Puppy Therapy at HelloFresh Boosted Culture, Connection, and Office Buzz

Background
HelloFresh is a global meal kit delivery company operating in 19 countries, with around 200 employees based in its London office. The team works on a hybrid model, with a mix of in-office and remote staff. Post-COVID, the business has placed a big emphasis on rebuilding workplace culture, encouraging people back into the office, and fostering genuine connections between colleagues. Isobel Findlay, Workplace & Culture Manager at HelloFresh, helped share some thoughts on her experience of Paws in Work.
The Challenge
After long periods of remote work, HelloFresh faced a common challenge: how to make the office an inviting, energising space that employees wanted to return to.
The company already had a strong culture programme, but many traditional events were limited to small groups. This left some employees missing out, which diluted the inclusive feel HelloFresh wanted to create.
“COVID hit hard and a lot of people ended up working from home. We wanted to give people a reason to come back in and enjoy being here again.”

The Decision
When HelloFresh first explored puppy therapy with Paws in Work, there were a few natural concerns to overcome: puppy welfare, logistics, and whether the investment would deliver value. But reassurance came quickly:
"People always asked about the welfare of the puppies. But once we explained that they’re well looked after, socialised, and often already reserved for families, everyone loved it. It actually makes their transition easier, and it’s so lovely for us to be part of that." - Isobel
The appeal was clear: unlike other events that catered to only 20 people, puppy therapy sessions could engage over 80 employees in a single day, making it inclusive, fun, and impactful.
The Solution
Working with Paws in Work, HelloFresh introduced structured puppy therapy sessions in its London office. Groups of 9 employees at a time would enjoy 25-minute sessions, stepping away from their screens to relax, laugh, and connect.
The sessions were promoted across Slack, digital screens, and posters, creating a buzz in the office. The booking system also made sign-up seamless compared to other events that required spreadsheets or clunky apps.
“It’s such a nice break. You spend 6–8 hours staring at a screen, and this just lets you switch off for a while. Plus, living in London, most of us don’t have dogs, so it’s such a treat.”

The Results
The outcomes went far beyond a fun office day:
- Higher engagement & inclusivity – large numbers of employees could take part in one day, compared with other events.
- Boosted office attendance – puppy therapy days saw noticeably more employees coming into the office.
- Positive wellbeing impact – employees reported feeling uplifted, more connected, and energised.
- Cultural fit – the sessions aligned with HelloFresh’s commitment to wellbeing and workplace culture.
“We do other events that cost about the same but only involve 20 or so people. With puppy therapy, everyone gets a chance to join in, and the excitement it creates is incredible. People are still asking, 'When are we bringing it back?'”
-
Looking Ahead
With an office refurbishment on the horizon, HelloFresh is keen to keep exploring creative ways to support employee wellbeing, and puppy therapy is firmly on the list of activities to bring back.
“We had so many new people join who’ve never even done it before. I can’t wait to introduce them to the experience, it just brings so much joy into the office.” – Isobel
